General Info
Gulmit offers a hospitable atmosphere of traditional Wakhi culture. The Wakhis of Gojal Valley claim to have migrated fom the Wakhan corridor. The Mir of Hunza had his winter capital in Gulmit and the tomb of Salim Khan III (1790-1824) is founded here in the old part of the village, with old houses. Gulmit has a simple bazar with basic amenities. It's scenic mountainenvironment offers relaxation, short walks and longer treks, particularly two-day treks into alpine pastures.

Overlookng Hunza River and surrounded by loafty mountains and glaciers of the Upper Hunza Valley, Marcopolo Inn ofers breathtaking views of the Karakoram mountain range.
Access
the Marcopolo Inn is the centre of the village of gulmit on the Karakorom Highway and is conveniently accessable.
